Privacy Policy

1Overview

Startups.media does not require an account, login, or user profile to browse the leaderboard or submit a listing. We collect only what's needed to publish a listing, process a bid payment, and keep the site running. We do not sell personal data.

2Listing data (public)

When you submit a product, the following becomes part of the public leaderboard and is visible to anyone visiting the site: the product URL/domain, the product name, the chosen category, and the total confirmed bid amount. This data is public by design — the platform's entire ranking mechanism depends on bid totals being visible to everyone.

3Payment data

Payments are handled entirely by Dodo Payments through a secure, hosted checkout. Startups.media does not collect, see, or store your card number, card details, or full billing information. We retain only what's needed to record that a payment was confirmed — the amount, the associated listing, and a payment reference — so the correct total bid can be credited.

4Cookies & analytics

We use standard, first- and third-party cookies for basic site functionality (such as remembering interface state) and aggregate analytics (such as page views and traffic sources) to understand how the leaderboard is used. Analytics data is used in aggregate and is not linked to a submitted listing's owner identity, since no login exists to link it to.

5Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third-party services to operate the platform:

• Dodo Payments — processes all checkout and payment confirmation.
• Hosting provider — serves the site and stores listing/leaderboard data.
• Analytics provider — collects aggregate, non-identifying traffic data.

Each of these providers processes data under its own privacy policy and terms.

6Data retention

Listing data (URL, category, bid total) is retained for as long as the listing remains on the platform, since the ranking mechanism is permanent by design. Payment confirmation records are retained as required for accounting and dispute-resolution purposes.

7Your rights

You may request removal of a listing you submitted, or ask what data we hold about a specific listing or payment, by reaching out through the contact page. Note that removing a listing does not entitle you to a refund of any confirmed bid, per our Terms of Service.

8Children's privacy

Startups.media is intended for business and startup use and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under the age required by applicable law to use the platform.

9Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in how the platform operates or which third-party services it relies on. Continued use of the site after a change is published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
